What is Beldi?

Beldi is a traditional soap from Morocco and the surrounding region. It is used as a deep body cleanser as part of the hammam spa experience. It is a saponified gel soap made with olive oil, ground whole olives and scented with eucalyptus.

Although beldi soaps have been made for many centuries, this is the first book that adapts the basic formula, incorporating both old and new technologies. With each soap I have used a combination of traditional ingredients and complemented them with modern day actives. This makes for truly unique adaptations on a classic soap!

This method is easy to understand and apply to each formula.
